Grandiose Wanderung zwischen den roten Sandsteinfelsenim Colorado National Monument. Abstieg in den Monument Canyon und Wanderung bis zum Kletterfelsen "Independence Rock". Rückkehr am gleichen Weg und Aufstieg zum Parkplatz. Auf der Bergstraße viele Aussichtspunkte mit Parkmöglichkeit.

Loop around Gold Star Canyon with uncommonly used trail for the ascent.

The historic Fruita Dugway Trail via McInnis Canyons Conservation Area ending at junction with Black Ridge Trail. Round trip about 7.5 miles.

This 6.3-mile, point-to-point descent through Monument Canyon winds through the eponymous chasm at the heart of the Colorado National Monument.

Shuttle required. Begin at upper Liberty Cap trailhead on Rimrock Dr and walk a few miles on an old dirt road through rather uninteresting pinyon/juniper. After passing upper Monument Canyon, turn left on trail at about 3.4 miles to great views of Monument Canyon and Otto's Bathtub. Cairn on a narrow band of Entrada sandstone marks location of bath. (The track shown actually goes beyond the bathtub) Look for steps cut into sandstone. (Photo is the bathtub itself). Backtrack and continue to the Liberty Cap and lower Liberty Cap Trail to lower trailhead on Wildwood Dr. Easy hiking until steep dropoff at the edge of Monument Mesa.
