Hikes & Walks in Lancashire

Start from the Longton Brickcroft Nature reserve. Enjoy walking through farmland quiet country roads and onto the Marsh, enjoy the birds and quiet, wend your way back once again to the Brickcroft then feel free to explore round there.

Leave the car at home and travel to the pretty market town of Clitheroe by train for a car-free expedition up Pendle Hill. This route quickly takes from town into countryside and up onto the summit plateau via one of the many valleys or ‘cloughs’ on Pendle’s flanks, before returning to the stations via a pretty hamlet which boasts one of Britain’s best pubs.

A 5km easy walk, through one of Preston’s parks, a short way along the 200yr old Lancaster canal and back along the Ribble link, which was built in 2002 to connect the canal to the rest of the canal network via the river Ribble.

An idyllic hillside walk across a section of the West Pennine Moors moorland affording fantastic views on a clear day inclusive of Liverpool, Anglezarke, Blackpool Tower, Barrow-in-Furness, the Lake District and Parlick Fell.

A lovely hike from St Theresa’s in UpHolland. This was done during winter so expect ice and snow when crossing the country footpath. A short hike that is suitable for most hikers/walkers.

A surprisingly muddy boots adventure on the periphery of urbanised Kingsfold

7 mile circular walk starting from Lower Penwortham via Old Tram Way through Brown Edge Wood back to North bank of River Ribble which it follows back to start. Parking as start PR1 9XR.
