Hikes in La Petite-Pierre

Before leaving the Northern Vosges with this GR 53 stage, we pass the cliff dwellings of Graufthal and later the Saut du Prince Charles (Charles' Leap).

This GR 53 stage leads via Wimmenau, the Englishberg, the Rocher de l'Ochsenstall and Erckartswiller in a relaxed manner through wooded hilly country to La Petite Pierre.

From the historic treasure chest of La Petite-Pierre, this circuit takes us to the picturesque cave houses in Graufthal.

Les mouvements géologiques de la déformation des Vosges ont causé la séparation de compartiments de grès entiers, créant failles et diaclases, zones de faiblesse dans lesquelles l’eau de ruissellement s’infiltre, ce qui agrandit ces fissures et provoque le détachement de pans entiers de rochers qui dévalent les pentes.

Sechste Etappe der Vogesenquerung. Letzte Etappe der Nordvogesen. Es geht über kleine Pfade durch Wald, vorbei an den Felsenhäusern von Graufthal und im Bereich des Col de Saverne über einen mittelalterlichen "Umspannbahnhof" mit zwei Gleisen.
