Hikes in Klaipėdos

A very spectacular 7 km circular walk along the Baltic sea shore. Walk through a thick forest, discover ancient hillfort, WW2 fortifications and the cliff of the Dutchman's Cap.    

On this route a few natural and cultural highlights of the Curonian spit will be visited. Start your route at the Amber bay, continue into the primaveal forest, pass along the mystical wooden sculptures and guide yourself through an acid forest shaped by one of the biggest Cormorant colony in Europe.

Today's route will lead you through the white sand dunes, magic pine forests and along shore of the Curonian lagoon.

During an easy walk from Preila to Nida you will climb the highest dune of the Curonian Spit (Vecekrugas), pass by the civil airfield and finish at the famous German author, Nobel prize winner Thomas Mann house.

On the hike around Nida you will see not only fascinating natural sites and sceneries, but also historicaly significant places.

This is an easy walk along the northernmost part of the Curonian spit. It is a circular walk from your hotel to the same hotel. No transfer needed. To reach the starting point in Smiltynė you will need to take a ferry over the Curonian lagoon. There are no shops or cafes on the route (only a few café/ice-cream stands), so prepare packed lunch or a picnic in Klaipėda.
