Hikes in Guildford

This stunning 7 mile circular hike explores some of the sights the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty has to offer. You'll pass through Hurt Wood, Pitch Hill, Ewhurst Windmill, Reynards Hill, Winterfold Hill as well as a couple of small farms. This route would make a great half-day adventure for keen walkers and brave dogs! The Hurtwood Inn Pub and Restaurant in Peaslake also makes an excellent Pub stop at the end. This is a hilly circular walk starting at Albury Heath and visiting Blackheath, Chilworth Gunpowder Mills, St Martha's Hill, Newlands Corner, Silent Pool and Shere. It's a longer walk but makes a great full day out and the ever-changing sights make it one not to forget. Some of our highlights from this walk are the beach-like sands at Blackheath, the views from Newlands Corner and of course the ice cream in Shere! A moderate walk over a varied landscape with woodland and open views. The change of geology from greensand to chalk adds to the variety.

Green Flag Award-winning meadows close to Guildford. Well worth a visit for its enormous lake, picnic area and beautifully carved benches. There are boardwalk routes to explore, with an observation hide tucked away in the reeds. And the neighbouring River Wey has endless interest.
