Zu Fuß auf den Hill von Howth - Dieser Tagesausflug ist bei den Dublinern und den auslänischen Touristen sehr beliebt. Mit der Vortortbahn DART ist man innerhalb von einer halben Stunde dort.
Von dem Hügel Shielmartin am Howth Golf Course haben Sie einen phantastischen Blick über die Dublin Bay, die Stadt und diw Wicklow Hills.
Wandern Sie von Shielmartin in Richtung See abwärts, und biegen Sie auf der Carrickbrack Road nach links ab. Nach etwa 250 Metern überqueren Sie die Straße und gehen durch ein Tor. Dort biegen Sie nach links ab und begen Sie auf den Cliff Walk. Er ist rund acht Kilometer lang und führt um die Halbinsel herum.
Unterwegs kommen Sie am 1814 erbauten Baily-Leuchtturm vorbei, und wenn Sie dem Küstenpfad bis zum Ende folgen landen Sie wieder sicher in Howth Harbour.

Von der Bahnstation in Bray flanieren wir an der Promenade bis zum "Cliff Walk" im Süden.
An den Klippen entlang und parallel zur Bahnlinie geht es weiter nach Greystones, wo wir wieder auf den Strand treffen.
Danach empfielht sich noch ein Bogen am Hafen entlang zum Bahnhof.
An- und Abreise mit der S-Bahn von Dublin (DART). Bray ca. 45 min und Greystones a. 60 min.

this is pretty long , took 14 hours with water depot the previous day to collect enroute.
It is a recreation of a walk done by tom Crean in 1912 , he made a solo dash for help leaving his two comrades in a tent 33 miles away.

excellent - many thanks
Current route has a sign saying that you cannot cross a line. Which is incorrect. Ignore the sign and keep left on this route
