Hikes and walks in Corrèze in the heart of nature

Close to the Massif Central, Corrèze is primarily characterised by a rather eroded mountain with Mount Bessou (987 m), on the edge of the Millevaches plateau. The plateaus are carved out by valleys such as the Dordogne up to the Gimel waterfalls. In the Brive basin, there are sandstone hills such as Collonges-la-Rouge.

As a transitional department between Aquitaine and the Massif Central, Corrèze's altitude rises gradually from the Brive basin to the Millevaches plateau, a real water tower on the Atlantic coast. This relief explains the wide variety of climates in the Corrèze.
