Toft hall to Ullard Hall circular route 2022-03-22
recommended route
Difficulty
easy
10.9 km
2:40 h

The start and end point of this route is not a footpath, you can follow the official footpath to the A50 if preferred. The route is flat, but has several stiles and stream crossings and some of the going is marshy so a walk that is better in dry weather. There is a fair amount of roadwork as the drive from Ullard Hall farm to Ullard Hall Lane is long as well as the lane itsel until you reach the footpath that returns you to Toft Hall. However, it is a no through road so very quiet apart from occasional farm traffic.
The highlight of the walk is to see Toft Hall from behind. It is an impressive house. The walk is very convenient to Knutsford and a good alternative to Tatton Park if you want to avoid the crowds.

Nice route for a walk and talk, easy to follow, very quiet except at 3 Shires Bridge, and great to finish with tea and cake at The Peak Cafe on the Cat & Fiddle Road.
