Hikes in Ceredigion

A coast to Coast Mountain walk. From Cardiff to Conwy traversing much of the highest, wildest and most scenically beautiful parts of Wales. The route is approximately 479 km (298 miles) with a total ascent of 22,460 m (73,700 ft)

31C: South-West Wales Little visited hills on the northern edge of Myherin Forest with return on forest tracks.

31A: Aberystwyth to Welshpool Initially on the classic route up Pumlumon but detouring over pathless ground to pick up various tops.

31A: Aberystwyth to Welshpool  The copper, gold, silver and lead mines of Ceredigion and the Cambrian Mountains are among the earliest in Britain, dating back over two thousand years. Since then the hills of Ceredigion have been mined by monks and kings and have drawn prospectors in search of riches from as far afield as 18th century Germany and Italy.  Our route takes us through some of the areas associated with this mining activity.

A walk in the wilds around Nant y Moch. Some road but they are small and very quiet. Mostly solid under foot otherwise. Good footwear recommended as some areas are rocky and tough going.

A peaceful circular route through the minor roads and footpaths in the area.

31C: South-West Wales Hafod Uchtryd, 12 miles south-east of Aberystwyth, is recognised as one of the finest examples in Europe of a Picturesque landscape. The Arch car park and picnic area is named after a spectacular old masonry arch which sits by the side of the road and was once the gateway to the Hafod Estate. The arch was built in 1810 to mark the Golden Jubilee of King George III and the road used to run through it!
