The most well-known view of Windsor Great Park is arguably the iconic view down the Long Walk, towards Windsor Castle at the far end. This tree-lined avenue stretches down towards the ancient fortress, illustrating the regal grandeur and Royal heritage of Windsor Great Park. Red Deer are easily spotted, with a population of around 500 that roam freely around the Deer Park enclosure.

Basildon Park, lovingly renovated by Lord and Lady Iliffe, is an architectural TV and film star (look for it in Pride and Prejudice, Downton Abbey, Dorian Gray, and Marie Antoinette) where children may safely run wild on its 400 acres. There are four short walks with a couple of hills and muddy patches. The two shorter paths are appropriate for pushchairs and take 20-40 minutes, while the longer 3-mile trip around the estate's perimeter takes around 2 hours.

This gentle walk along the riverbank and through the woods offers calm riverfront scenery as well as spectacular views of the Berkshire countryside. The magnificent rural estate of Cliveden overlooks the River Thames and is open every day for most of the year. It has been a location of history, mystery, intrigue, and controversy. Cliveden Estate is presently leased as a luxury country house hotel and is not available to the public to safeguard the privacy of its guests. During certain periods of the year, however, the doors of the opulent ground floor are accessible to tourists for a guided tour.

Newbury's canal, which was formerly the key commerce route between Bristol and London, provides a wonderful towpath stroll with plenty to see. Beginning at Newbury Wharf, go east to Widmead Lock. To access the Thatcham Nature Discovery Centre, turn left. Keep an eye out for common terns, house martins, swallows, and swifts across the lake if you're into watching wildlife.

Riverside Walks
In one walk, you'll get your daily dosage of happiness. The riverside route is a pleasant promenade that offers birds, animals, and a stunning river vista with trees dangling over the water and boats mooring along the bank. Begin from Hurley Lock and go to Marlow Bridge following the trail. then circle back to your starting point.
Another recommended pathway is Reading Bridge which takes you on a tour of the town's most beautiful places, including King's Meadow and Blake's Lock, as well as the Abbey Ruins and Forbury Gardens. The best part is that it shouldn't take more than an hour.
