The route is a hiking route along the shores of Shenzhen Bay, but the route is very well built so it is also ideal for other sports such as cycling, running and roller-skating. There are also many beautiful views along the route and the outline of Hong Kong can be seen.

由沙頭角上山，先訪伯公拗麥景陶碉堡，再上亞公角英軍瞭望台，後上二桐，過三桐，登麻雀嶺。後經紅花寨落蓮麻坑礦山大廳，穿過隧道後落黃金坡至五號礦洞，再繼續下山經過選礦廠遺址、新桂田警崗，最後返蓮麻坑村。
