Hiking has a long tradition in the Vosges: more than 20,000 km of marked and maintained trails are now available in the region.
This exceptional network enables hikers to find just the right route. From short themed walks to several days' excursions – alone, with family or with friends.

Crossing the Vosges: You must not miss this hike!
By crossing the Vosges, you can enjoy a unique natural experience! Created by the Club Vosgien, this route connects Wissembourg and Belfort and offers 430 km of hiking pleasure.
You will hike over peaks and through the calming atmosphere of the Vosges forests and explore the exceptional landscapes of the regional nature parks "Northern Vosges" and "Balloons of Vosges.“
It is advisable to plan the hike according to your wishes and your level so that the adventure remains a pleasure from start to finish. 19 daily stages from the North to the south of the Vosges Massif wait for the most experienced hikers. You can also choose to hike individual sections, as all stages can be reached by train or bus.
The first French hiking trail with the certificate "Leading Quality Trails - Best of Europe"
This rating system ensures a high quality hiking experience by taking into account the attractiveness of the landscape, the infrastructure and the characteristics of the routes.
It is based on years of practical experience in countries that already use quality criteria as a tool for planning and improving routes.
Volunteers in the service of hikers
The Club Vosgien and its volunteers have been maintaining and marking 20,000 km of hiking trails for more than 140 years and are the leading association for hiking in the Vosges Massif.
The association also publishes maps and hiking guides, which are available in many shops. It also manages huts, refuges and accommodation for walkers.
It cooperates closely with the Fédération Française de Randonnée Pédestre (French Hiking Federation), which is responsible for a large network of hiking trails on the massif and guarantees the Grande Randonnée ®GR certification of the routes throughout the national territory.
