The mountain calls! And not only the Watzmann. High peaks, deep gorges and clear mountain lakes in Germany's only Alpine National Park - that's what the Berchtesgadener Land has to offer. In the southeast of Bavaria, the region around Berchtesgaden, Bad Reichenhall and Lake Königssee stretch out to a vast landscape. A broad tourist infrastructure offers numerous opportunities for outdoor sports of all kinds, discovering the local culture or relaxation against an impressive mountain backdrop.

Winter sports - active between snow and ice
Even on cold days, it is worth going outside in the Berchtesgadener Land. Whether on the slopes, the cross-country ski runs, on snowshoe hikes and ski tours or sledding - the possibilities for active people are uncountable in the alpine region. We recommend a visit to the Bobsleigh, Skeleton and Luge ice track Königssee; the oldest artificial ice track in the world, which is the venue of many international competitions every winter. If you want to leave the hectic everyday life behind to enjoy the peaceful snowy landscape, you can do so by taking a ride on a horse-drawn sleigh or hiking through the fresh powder snow.
