Vrancea County, through its geographical location, at the curve of the Eastern Carpathians, has been a real hub of connection between Moldova, the Romanian country and Transylvania. Vrancea is the symbol of the Union in 1859, which established the Romanian state. Focșani is known as the first capital of the United principalities. The first World War is another important milestone, and testimony is the Mausolets of Focșani, Mărăști, Mărășești and Soveja. The geographical position of Vrancea county as well as the natural and cultural background – historical, favors various forms of tourism: Weekends, hunting and fishing, or vititurism. This blessed land is a miniature Romania. There are 16 natural reserves with an area of 2862 ha in Vrancea, most famous of which are the Keys of Tișitei, the Waterfall of Putna, Red Ravine, Black Lake, Naruja Keys, Zabala Hollows, the Living Fire from Andreiașu, Dălhăuți, "The Siret Meadow.
Vrancea County is famous for the craftsmanship of wine and for having excellent indigenous varieties, gathered in a row of famous vineyards and cellars: Cotești, Jariștea, Odobești and Panciu, with his famous sparkling wine, located on the “Road of Vrancea Vineyards”.
The arrangement of the relief in steps, which descend to the east, opens the space wide primarily to the Eastern continental influences but also to the northern and southern climates. Vrancea county has also a very varied and complex soil coating due to the diversity of geographical conditions.
