Lake Sfânta Ana
Harghita is a county situated in eastern Transylvania, in central Romania. The residence of this county is Miercurea-Ciuc municipality.
Harghita county is mostly inhabited by Hungarians. This county surprises you with every destination you visit. Here you can visit Praid Sal Mine or resorts such as Borsec and Bilbor, but also the Keys of Bicaz or Harghita Mountains wich have a breathtaking view and the list continue with lots of destinations wich deserve to be visited.

The climate has significant differences depending on height, valley, vacuum, current, but two types are mainly noted:
- moderate continental climate in subcarpathian hills, where summers are warm and rich in rainfall and cold winters and sometimes also blizzards.
- mountain climate specific to the high-level areas in which the summers are short, cool with rainfall, and the cold winters with a thick, stable snow layer for a long time. Miercurea - Ciuc is considered the pole of the cold all over the country, here the temperatures sometimes range -40 degrees C.
Starting with the mountains of volcanic origin, besides the beauty of the uncommon nature, such as Lake Saint Ana in Big Ciomatu or the Tinovul Mohoș, the hundreds of springs of mineral water - besides human value - represent the riches that contribute to the preservation to our day, the local identity and legendary of the secular pride. It is completed with the special history and beauty of the Red Lake and its surroundings, offering on the tray the blessings of the hopes invested in tourism in the region.
The Red Lake is a natural dam lake formed following the collapse of a mountain peak that blocked the course of a river.
Saint Ana Lake is formed in the crater of a former volcano.
