The combination of geographical and ethnographic diversity provides Bihor County with a strong position in the use of a wide range of tourist attractions and places the region as an important tourist destination for the northwest of Romania.
A basic tourist activity of the county is related to spa tourism, which is practiced in the holiday resorts of Felix and on 1 Mai (May 1st). The nearby Oradea offers a sparkling urban environment with a growing cultural activity, ideal for a weekend in the form of a "city break".
The main attractions for the active tourist are related to the perimeter of the Apuseni Nature Park and consist of
- Padiș karst area - Cetățile Ponorului (Ponor fortresses), a tourist area with a high concentration of tourist destinations, such as Padiș plateau, Poiana Ponor, Ponor fortresses;
- The tourist area of Boga - Aleu and Pietroasa - Chișcă with the bear cave (Peștera urșilor), the Boghii outflow, the rock walls of the Boghii amphitheatre, the Bohodei Pass and the Oşelu waterfall;
- Valea Sighișteului area, where there are numerous caves, the most famous of which are the Măgură and Coliboaia caves. The valley ends in a spectacular gorge;
- Vârtop ski resort with medium difficulty. In the surroundings there are numerous guesthouses and cottages where tourists can stay overnight.
