Cycling in Břeclav

EuroVelo 9 is part of the European network of long-distance cycling routes. It links the Baltic coast in Poland with the Adriatic Sea in Croatia, covering 1,930 km. It runs straight through the heart of Central and Eastern Europe: travelling right across Poland from Gdansk, then through the Czech Republic, Austria and Slovenia, all the way to Pula in Croatia. Here we introduce the completed section from Breclav in the Czech Republic to Maribor in Slovenia: a tour of pure indulgence through wine regions, and connecting thermal spas, through the city of Vienna and the state of Styria until finally reaching Maribor in Slovenia.

Trasa výletu vede po jižní část cyklistické Vinařské stezky Podlužím spojující jak  Břeclav s Hodonínem, tak dvě významná slovanská sídliště Pohansko a Valy u Mikulčic.

Pohodová jízda Lednicko-valtickým areálem nabízí putování jedinečnou krajinnou kompozicí, která byla pro svou výjimečnou hodnotu zapsána do seznamu chráněných památek UNESCO.

The cycle route is well signposted over its entire length. You will see various types of signs as you pass through Lower Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The European flag with the number ‘13’ is the route's consistent identifying symbol. View illustrations of the different signs in use here.

The South Trail of Via Czechia is the second longest cycling route in Czechia (after the North Trail). The trail connects easternmost and westernmost points of Czechia, passes through 15 mountain ranges and geographical areas, over 6 protected landscape areas, 2 national parks and countless historical towns, nature reserves and natural monuments. If you complete the whole trail, you would set foot on the easternmost, southernmost and westernmost points of Czechia.

Als Nord-Süd-Achse verläuft der EuroVelo 9 durch Niederösterreich. Als Teil des europäischen Radfernroutennetzes verbindet er die Ostsee mit der Adria. Am Weg von Danzig nach Pula verlaufen rund 227 Kilometer durch Niederösterreich, das Land für Genießer.
