Afghanistan
Most of Afghanistan consists of mountainous regions, deserts and semi-deserts that are difficult to access. The peaks of Koh-e Baba, Hindu Kush and Safed Koh, which are up to 7500 m high, are covered by a thick layer of snow all year round. One of the most famous sights of the country are the Band-e Amir lakes. Around the turquoise waters, Afghanistan's first national park was designated in 2009. The Bamiyan Valley also contains numerous remains of Buddhist monasteries, monuments and rock paintings. These are under UNESCO protection, as is the famous minaret of Djam in the province of Ghor.
DUE TO THE UNCERTAIN POLITICAL SITUATION, TRAVELLING TO AFGHANISTAN IS NOT RECOMMENDED!
