Holiday region Glarnerland
Families in particular appreciate the Glarnerland as a holiday region. In Braunwald, a car-free village at 1300 m a.s.l., the little ones can wander with dwarves through enchanted fairytale villages.
The Elm holiday region forms a valley basin surrounded by rugged cliffs. Here, native animals can be observed in Europe's oldest wildlife sanctuary. The legendary Martinsloch, an imposing breach in the Alpine chain, is particularly impressive in Elm. On some days in spring and autumn, you can watch the sun shining through the hole into the valley.
The Klöntalersee is located above Glarus in the middle of the Swiss Alps. It lies like a fjord in the landscape and, along with all the other natural spectacles in Glarus, is partly responsible for the popularity of the holiday region.
