Casa Milà is a replication of eroded shapes. All elements seem to be organic and the building reminds you of an expressionistic work. This feeling is conveyed by doors and windows that are similar to caves, the wrought-iron balcony lattices and the extraordinary chimneys. The building was restored by the bank La Caixa de Catalunya and is used as a culture center nowadays. One floor is used as an exhibition hall, furthermore there is an auditorium, a restored traditional flat and an “Espai Gaudí” in the attic and on the roof. It introduces Gaudí’s life and work in a temporal context. The building is part of the UNESCO world heritage.
