At the western door of the Alps lies a small but interesting vineyard. At the center stands the city of Aigle dominated by its castle. The reputation of the village of Yvorne goes way beyond Switzerland. The dominant local grape is the white Chasselas. The Chablais region is very picturesque and offers a lovely trail and many places to stop and taste the local wines.

Ballade versant sud,puis sud-est de la pointe de La Palette au franchisement du Col de Voré 1920m....cette ballade commence sur les bords du Lac Retaud 1700m. près du Col du Pillon pour rejoindre les bords du lac d'Arnon 1542m.Ce lac est alimenté le Tschärzisbach qui draine un versant de 7 km2.Du lac...remontée soutenue par une route de gravier à la fenêtre d'Arnon 1900m.....Pas de Clé,Pas de Saxième,Col de Seron 2153m.pour terminer la longue descente face au massif des Diablerets vers le point de départ...le lac Retaud!
