This tour was a magnificent first day of a multi-day trip through the villages of Alpujarras. It's long, but can be shortened by going directly down to Fondales instead of continuing on the hight until Hoya de Magalite. Staying on the hight makes you enjoy longer the beautiful view on the many white villages above Rio Trevélez. Both steep tracks ("Escarihuelas") down to Rio Trevélez are a masterpiece of trailbuilding and hundreds of years old!
The tour follows mostly the (poorly marked) GR142. The ascent from "Junta de los Rios" which is likely to be reached is unfortunately in full sun and has no mercy in sense of shadow. Start early, choose a cool day or just sweat a lot ;) . It is therefore also recommendable to refill water in one of the last houses of Los Agustines or the latest at "El Valero", last Finca before the ascent and run since 30 years by a very nice British couple (talk to the people, there is no fountain).
The following days are not uploaded / created yet.
